Hawaii Tobacco Quitline

Hawaii Tobacco Quitline

Project Description

The Hawaii Tobacco Prevention & Control Trust Fund, established through Chapter 328L-2(b)(3) of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, provides resources for community organizations to create and maintain a Hawaii free from tobacco use, addiction, and exposure to second-hand smoke.

We have achieved great accomplishments in tobacco prevention and control over the past several years — and yet there is more work to be done. Tobacco is still the number one cause of preventable death in Hawaii claiming more than 1,000 lives each year. More than 140,000 Hawaii residents are tobacco users and, unfortunately, nicotine addiction affects not only those who choose to light up, but everyone around them — from keiki to kupuna.

We all have the strength to keep tobacco out of our lives and with the resources provided by the Hawaii Tobacco Prevention & Control Trust Fund, we can work together to make our state a healthier place to live, work and play.
